Under the product name Bremapal, Robert Kraemer GmbH & Co. KG offers a number of phenolic modified gum rosins. The reaction of phenolic resin with gum rosin results in binders which are mainly used in printing inks for value print, screenprint and gravure print. In these paints, gloss, sustainability as well as hardness are increased. Because of their special gum rosin structure, these resins show good wetting with almost all pigments.
However, other applications, such as oil cookings or lacquers, especially alkyd resin lacquers are found in the phenolic modified gum rosin. As hard resin in a lacquer or in oil cooking, particularly sustainability and weather-resistance are improved. These sustainable and weather-resistance lacquers can then be used for i.e. boat paint.
